About Us
Kingdom City Coffeehouse is a job training and life skills education center for high school aged youth, and uses the coffee shop model to facilitate having a realistic environment in which they can educate the youth in practical like skill building, and career readiness. The founders of the organization recognized the need for local youth to have an avenue for long-term success and built Kingdom City Coffeehouse to do just that. Kingdom City Coffeehouse provides training, mentors, and supervised educational training for high school youth. We use training as the basis foreducation and skill-building programs and activities, which provide realistic, meaningful, and applicable skills to future jobs and career endeavors. Some of our programs and activities include:
Kingdom City Coffeehouse Youth Internship Program:
The organization’s core youth program is a structured, one-time 50-hour internship, specifically designed to give high school aged youth from 14 to 18 years old, their first job experience. Interns are mentored by trained mentors, and they build practical life skills and employment skills in areas such as customer service, teamwork, time management, professional communication, bookkeeping, inventory, and records keeping. Participants are youth with no previous job experience who benefit significantly from receiving career education, mentorship, supervision, and practical skill-building opportunities. This program ensures that youth are able to receive this necessary guidance and education in a safe environment designed to help them learn, grow, and succeed.

After Hours Life Skills Program:
To further ensure the success of participants, the organization hosts an After Hours Life Skills Program. This program educates the youth participants on a variety of subjects such as academic support, career readiness, budgeting, mental health, communication skills, Microsoft Office training, and more, depending on the needs of the youth participants. These educational workshops are taught by industry professionals and skilled community members. Instructors are selected based on their expertise and are often certified in their fields, particularly for subjects like mental wellness.
Youth Shoe Drive:
Kingdom City Coffeehouse will host a community-based shoe drive that provides new, high-quality footwear to high school-aged youth from low-income households. This program ensures that youth who may otherwise lack access to essential items receive the support they need to fully participate in school, extracurricular activities, and community life with dignity and self-assurance.

Beyond addressing a basic material need, the shoe drive plays an important role in supporting the social and emotional development of young people. Proper footwear is often a prerequisite for participation in school athletics, job interviews, and even safe daily commutes, making this program a foundational step toward broader personal and academic success. By removing a barrier that many young people quietly face, Kingdom City Coffeehouse helps youth participants move through the world with greater confidence and a stronger sense of belonging.
In keeping with the organization’s charitable mission, the shoe drive is part of a larger effort to cultivate self-worth, motivation, and resilience among youth who face economic hardship. Each pair of shoes represents an investment in a young person’s future, supporting their ability to engage in school, contribute to their community, and envision a path forward with purpose.
At Kingdom City, coffee is just the beginning. Through our outreach efforts, we provide mentorship, job training, and support to youth and families in our community.
